2008 Scavenger Hunt - Saturday, November 8

THE PRESIDENTIAL PURSUIT SCAVENGER HUNT.
IT'S TIME TO GRAB YOUR HANGING CHADS
AND RUN IN HAVERHILL'S FIRST PRESIDENTIAL RACE.

  • TEAM: Your team of 4 - 8 people will be given clues to solve as you make your way around town.
  • PLEASE: Call your friends. Call your relatives. Call your neighbors, and sign up early to assure your team's reservation. An extra point clue will be given to your team upon payment-the sooner you pay, the sooner you get your clue!
  • DATE: Saturday, November 8, 2008
  • TIME: 6:30 PM
  • PLACE: Lower level of the parking deck
  • COST: $35.00 per person* - checks payable to:
    HAVERHILL HISTORICAL SOCIETY

There’s a new exhibit at the Buttonwoods Museum/Haverhill Historical Society:
Collecting Haverhill History

This is an exhibit of Haverhill artifacts, commemorative pieces and souvenirs. They were produced to celebrate special events, anniversaries, Haverhill scenes and important people. Many of these objects were sold in local stores to residents and tourists. Each artifact recalls a bit of Haverhill history.

The exhibit runs through November 14, 2008.

Admission to exhibit and Museum is $5 Adults, $4 Seniors, $3 Children ages 7-17.

September 26-28 is Trails & Sails Weekend
sponsored by the Essex National Heritage Area.
Sunday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m.

BWHHS is offering a free walking tour of Historic Downtown Haverhill to explore the rich Italian culture and Haverhill’s architectural history.

  • Event length: 90 minutes
  • Depart: Son’s of Italy
  • Limited to: 20
  • Directions: 124 Washington Street – Rte 495 to Exit 49 (River Street) east toward downtown Haverhill

The Buttonwoods Museum at the Haverhill Historical Society is pleased to invite you to participate in our seventh annual March Art Show. This year’s event, “Got Art?” will run from March 4-April 4, 2008.

Vintage Base Ball Tournament at Riverside Park

Sponsored by the Haverhill Historical Society-Buttonwoods Museum
and Riverside Motors.

Vintage Base Ball Tournament to be played at Riverside Park. The Essex Base Ball Club (www.essexbaseball.org) will play in a tournament with seven other vintage base ball teams. Vintage base ball is played in the style of 1861 with underhand pitching and no gloves allowed. Learn how to play and then join a team and try it out.
Concessions and souvenirs available.
