The Buttonwoods Museum /Haverhill Historical Society depends on the generosity of its' members to support the museum’s mission which is to preserve and interpret the history of greater Haverhill from Native American settlement to the present. Membership supports museum programs, preservation of the site and daily operations. 

The Buttonwoods Museum does not receive funding from the federal, state or city governments and relies on grants, membership, donations and fundraising for support. Members are essential advocates for the Buttonwoods and all the museum does to promote local history in the Merrimack Valley.
